Ash Trio

A lot of people would have thrown this slab away. We found the beauty in this New Jersey white ash butt log. I'm thankful for very patient amazing customers who waited over a year to get this piece from me. I titled this piece "Ash Trio". It's a re-purposed slab with a natural finish, marine varnish topcoat complimented with black powder coated steel legs.

On a side note, I came across this video and had to share it. James Krenov created furniture with a relationship with wood that maybe only a few ever have known. I loved this video and his closing sentence is something that I relate with. Sometimes being lucky is better than good. I get asked all the time about how I build something, how did I land this job, or how I dye wood as vibrant and bright as I do. It's half know-how and other half is luck/magic. I never try to analyze it past that. It just works. People like James Krenov inspire me every day with my projects to reach deeper and push the envelope more as a woodworker. I've never considered a single day of my 16 years as a woodworker as work. I never wish to retire. That word again, I'm lucky to be able to do this for a living.
